Hello everyone, happy new year! 2025 is here! I love love love the new year. It's always a refreshing holiday! I'm curious if any of you are planning on going to miniature shows this year and where? I'm head to the Bishop Chicago Show in April, as a dealer. Anyone else going there?

Hi guys, I had a question for all of you, doll makers and collectors. Do you prefer to have your dolls in a fixed position or flexible, able to be posed? Here is my opinion and common practice: I think the dolls look more real in a permanent position and this is because the fabric is set to look like gravity has an effect and the arms are in natural positions. So I will actually sew the arms down into position. On some of my dolls the arms can be slightly posed but they are mainly fixed. That said, I do like pose able dolls, but only the ball jointed ones. They seem to be able to strike a more natural pose and are durable enough to withstand manipulation. What do you guys think?

I'm curious as to what fiber you dollmakers use or what you prefer? I use viscose on my dolls, as the texture and look of it is great for 1:12 scale.

How many of you are collectors or makers, or both of miniature dolls? What appealed to you when you first started?

I'm curious what types of glue you use for assembling your dolls? Whether they are porcelain or clay or resin, what do you use? I use hot glue with my porcelain dolls as I can easily remove to repair if needed. My video on assembling shows how I use the glue. What do you think?

So hey guys, I just spruced up my trusty ironing board and I wanted to show you what I use. I use a mini iron (sometimes called a quilter's iron) and handmade ironing board. The ironing board is about 10 inches by 6.5 inches of foamboard, that I then add a layer of cotton batting and then a neutral colored cotton fabric over the whole thing. I then staple down the raw edges on the back. This little handmade tool is vital in my mini doll making. What do you use for your mini ironing needs?
