I put in many hours working on Lilli's Littles, but it doesn't feel like work. It feels more like play. In fact, my family has to force me to "relax" on occasion but working on dolls and new products IS relaxing for me! So it's rather funny how that works, but it is true the adage "Do what you love, love what you do"! I also love this quote from Shark Tank:
And there are so many aspects to running your own business, that it truly is like wearing many hats. I've never been happier!
The latest happenings here in the studio:
I released the next pattern in my 5 pattern series. This one is "Laura" and is for a young girl in 1:12 scale, about 5 inches tall. As mentioned before, this pattern is a reworking of a kit I had previously offered. The clothing is of an 1800's Midwestern prairie dress. Yes, I was influenced by "Little House on the Prairie"! I read those books over and over as a kids, as well as watched the show. So check out the new pattern in pdf format for digital download over in my Etsy Shop.
The next happening in the studio was my announcement to have a table at the Portland Miniature Show at the end of September 2017. This will be my second time attending this show. I love Portland and I love being able to show here and represent miniaturists from the Pacific NW. Come out and visit the show and see all of the amazing miniatures!
And lastly, I have just finished a little Edwardian couple that I so enjoyed creating! They will be available at the show in September. The carnations are from a kit I purchased from a lovely Etsy shop called The Miniature Garden. It was an easy kit to put together and they turned out so realistic! The tiny petal shapes were just perfect and made a lovely representation of a carnation. Thanks to Georgie, the owner of the shop!
Well I must go back to creating and "relaxing" :) Have a great holiday everyone and I'll see you next time!!
