A Dollmaking Experience?

Hello everyone and welcome to the Updates page of "Isabel" A Dollmaking Experience. I
was beginning the process of creating a new class for the fall of 2026, and I thought, how can I make it more than just a class, but a glimpse into my process of making a porcelain figure and involve participants? Hence, the idea of an "experience" was born!
The type of doll began with an idea from a student (you know who you are :)) . I haven't explored this time period very much, though I few years ago I made a trio of dolls, Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn and Queen Elizabeth, which is very Tudor! Why not dive further into this era?
So, I began to draw and paint. I watched videos on Tudor era dressing and studied my fashion history reference books, and came up with a lovely little illustration and name, to begin the experience.

This is all new to me, this type of structure for a class, but it felt like a wonderful way to have an immersive experience online. I am sure I'll make mistakes, and there will be changes and adjustments, but I'm so glad you're here and I so appreciate you taking this journey with me!
So, welcome to this "experience"! Let's have a lovely time of it!
